CK is an Australian resident and one of the organisers behind the petitions opposing the former proposed Trump Tower development on the Gold Coast. She is keeping her real identity private while speaking publicly about the campaign.
She started her petition because she was concerned about the development’s potential social, environmental and economic impacts. For CK, the proposal raised questions about what the project would mean for the Gold Coast and its community.
The Trump name was also central to her opposition. CK sees it as a highly controversial political brand that does not reflect the values many Australians strive to uphold.
Her petition has attracted more than 130,000 signatures. CK joins us to explain what motivated her, how the campaign grew and what she hopes people take from it.
