This week’s guest on the Australia Asks video podcast is Senator David Shoebridge. He is an Australian Greens Senator representing New South Wales. First elected to the Senate in 2022 after serving over a decade in the NSW Legislative Council, he currently acts as the party’s spokesperson for Justice, Defence, Foreign Affairs, Home Affairs, and Digital Rights.
Before entering politics, he worked as a barrister and a long-time environmental and social justice advocate. In the Federal Parliament, Senator Shoebridge has developed a reputation for taking on the government and intelligence agencies, leading high-profile campaigns for systemic transparency, drug law reform, and opposition to the AUKUS pact.
Craig Hill is a Brisbane-based author, journalist, teacher, business consultant and social justice campaigner. He is the General Manager of the Australian Book and Language Studio.
