This week’s’s guest on my Australia Asks Video Podcast is Dr Gordon Reid MP, the federal member of parliament for Robertson in the ACT.

Dr Gordon Reid MP is an Australian medical practitioner and politician who serves as the Federal Member for Robertson in New South Wales. A proud Wiradjuri man with deep roots on the Central Coast, he was raised in Umina Beach and completed his education locally before earning his medical degree at the University of Newcastle.

Prior to entering federal politics, Dr Reid worked on the front lines of the healthcare system as an emergency department doctor at Gosford and Wyong Hospitals, an experience that directly shaped his commitment to improving community health and addressing local general practitioner shortages.

Representing the Australian Labor Party, Dr Reid was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2022 and subsequently secured re-election in 2025. In addition to his ongoing advocacy for Central Coast infrastructure, small businesses, and environmental protections, such as opposing offshore drilling contracts, he maintains an active focus on national health and civic policy.

Throughout his parliamentary terms, he has contributed to several federal committees, including the Standing Committee on Health, Aged Care and Disability, and continues to provide voluntary medical services to his local community.
