Prince Harry Splits With Chelsy Davy

Prince Harry has told friends he is “gutted” about splitting from long-term girlfriend Chelsy Davy recently, but says his career “has to come first.”

After five years together with the Zimbabwean-born law student, Harry, 24, and Chelsy, 23, have mutually called it quits after their respective career paths pulled them in different directions.

Friends of the pair told the Daily Mail that the split was “the right thing to do”.

“The truth of the matter is that while they love each other to bits, Harry and Chelsy have been pulling in opposite directions for some time,” said their source.

“Harry knows he needs to knuckle down with his career with the military while Chelsy is taking her finals this year and wants to forge ahead with hers.

“They have rowed and split up before but this time it appears to be permanent.”

News of the split reportedly broke when Chelsy’s Facebook relationship status changed.

“[Chelsy] is very sad about the break-up, still loves Harry and wishes their circumstances were different, but these things happen and she needs to move on with her life,” said the source.

“Harry insists that it is amicable and there is no one else involved,’ they said. ‘The fact is that they met when they were just 18 and 19 and, inevitably, things have changed. “Harry is still very protective of Chelsy and she is of him. They will remain friends.”
