The deadline to upgrade your Certificate IV in Training and Assessment has been extended from 5th October 2017 until 1st April 2019, because there are only 32 RTOs accredited to deliver the award. That’s right – only 32 have been accredited in the past two years.
That’s where I can help you. I have an agreement with one of these RTOs who can deliver the full award or the upgrade online.
With over 150,000 trainers accredited with the current TAE40110, the waiting lists for the TAE40116 upgrade at these 32 RTOs is enormous. Many of the RTOs are smaller, localised organisations, so have little capacity to deliver outside their area.
This means that many current trainers are going to miss the deadline for re-accreditation on 1st April 2019, so you should start planning your upgrade now.
The shortage has occurred because ASQA have made it far more difficult for RTOs to get accredited to deliver the new award. RTOs must have a suitably qualified trainer and assessor before they can get accreditation. Additionally, they must satisfy far higher standards before being accredited.
It is also no longer sufficient for trainers to simply have the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment to deliver the new qualification. Trainers must have a minimum of either a Diploma in Vocational Education and Training or a Diploma in Adult Education.
The large majority of trainers don’t have these qualifications, so there is a shortage of trainers to deliver the award.
I am qualified to deliver and assess this training, as I have an Advanced Diploma in Adult Education and a degree in Training and Development
