Rules of Math – Rounding
- Rounding involves increasing the value of the desired digit if the following digit is 5 or greater
- Rounding involves leaving the required digit the same if the following digit’s value is less than 5
- When rounding up, the desired desired digit is increased no matter what the value of the following digits (lower place value positions) are. Zeroes are added, if needed, to keep the place value of the number
